TEAM FIND! The team were called out to assist with the search of a 15 year old female who was missing for 6 hours in the ROMSEY ROAD area of WHITEPARISH. She had fallen behind a fence line and sustained a non life threatening neck injury which required hospitalisation. Laurence, Jane, Andy and Matt (with search dog Charlie) all responded immediately. On arrival, Jane supported Jo (with search dog Milo) from Hampshire Search Dogs. They had just commenced one of the very first areas allocated to them to search when they heard cries for assistance just outside of the start of their search area. They located the girl and called for additional resources to assist. Andy, with his medical knowledge, jumped in with the police officers from the RV and gave first aid until paramedics arrived on scene. This was Jane’s first experience of having a find. Jo’s third find!

STANDBY to assist Sussex search for Darren Brown, 24, missing from CRAWLEY. Chief Inspector Jon Hull said “He was not dressed appropriately for the weather, just wearing Chelsea-style shorts, a white jacket, T-shirt and flip flops. There was a possible sighting of Darren this morning at about 6.30am in the area of the Cowdray Arms in Balcombe Road, but despite officers immediately searching the area he was still not found. UPDATE The next day, Darren was found safe and well at the airport.
At 14:04 hours, that same day, the team were called out to assist with a further this search, unfortunately, the distance and time constraints meant that no one on the team could assist

STANDBY to assist WightSAR search for missing 92 year old, Andrew PARSONS. He was last seen on the morning of the 29th November in the Guyers Road area of FRESHWATER, ISLE OF WIGHT. Jane was available to assist, potentially with Nina accompanying her. Click here a report in the Southampton Breeze

CALLOUT to assist DorSAR and Dorset Police search for a missing 59 year old, male despondent in the Ferndown and West Moors area. A large search was mounted by the police which left Matt (with search dog Charlie), Laurence, Nina and Steve searching large areas of MOORS VALLEY COUNTRY PARK. Jane, supported Daz with search dog Kip from Hampshire Search Dogs. With Caroline still on route, the team covered a large area but only managed a fraction of what was required before they were stood down. The missing person was located safe and well the other side of the county.

Initially the team were placed on STANDBY again but this soon went to a CALLOUT at 10:39 hours. Laurence and Jane immediately deployed with Matt (& Charlie) and Erica (& Freya) attending later than afternoon. Laurence and Jane were on scene, ready for deployment when the team were stood down.

CALLOUT. SANDBANKS ROAD, POOLE. On the third shout of the day, Matt (with search dogs Charlie), Steve H and Jane respond to assist Dorset Police and DorSAR search for a missing 19 year old male. His friends saw him injure himself in the early hours of the morning and when they woke up later in the day their friend was nowhere to be seen. Shortly after the callout, the male made contact from a location in London. It would appear he left the Seaside location without telling his friends!

STANDBY to assist Sussex on their second search of the day to help find missing Maureen Read, 77. She was being treated at Uckfield Community Hospital on Framfield Road when she went missing. A massive search was instigated but on the evening of 14th July her body was located in a stream, metres from the hospital. Click here to read the local news article in The Argus

CALLOUT to assist Hampshire search for missing Nicholas Sherwood, 38, in the FOXES WOOD area of PORTSMOUTH. Jane immediately deployed to support Daz and search dog Kip from Lowland Search Dogs Southern. Matt with search dog Charlie with Laurence deploying were due to deploy within the next few hours. Jane and Daz were a short time into their first search when they were stood down after a discovery of a body nearby. Police are not treating his death as suspicious. CALLOUT to assist HantSAR search for Katherine Lisa Blakey, 42, who went missing from her home in FAREHAM. Jane attended and assisted HantSAR foot teams with urban searches. The police say she has been reported missing before and has been known to stay in guest houses and hotels. Click here to read the full police appeal in the Portsmouth Press
Unfortunately, Katherine’s body was discovered in the early hours of the morning by a HantSAR team.

The search continued for missing Kinsgley Morgan. On this occassion, Nina and Caroline joined DorSAR foot teams, searching three seperate areas each. Dorset Police are appealing for any witnesses or information which could lead to the whereabouts of the missing male. Click here for ITN News Appeal

CALLOUT to assist DorSAR and Dorset Police search for missing Kingsley Morgan, 73, who was last seen near his home on PORTLAND on 8th June 2012. Matt, Andy and Jane responded. Matt and Andy attempted to search nearby quarries with search dog Charlie however the terrain was too treacherous for dogs to search. The area was therefore searched by eye by Matt and Andy. Jane supported LSD Southern’s Kev and search dog Zak.

Matt and Erica searched two separate route and paths with search Dogs Charlie and Freya, respectively. Steve H was stood down on arrival. The team were called for the second missing person of the day. This time was for a 45 year old depressed male who went missing near the Longdown Dairy Farm and Owl and Otter Centre. Caroline, Jane, Steve H, Nina and Erica with search dog Freya were available to respond immediately. Matt, with search dog Charlie were leaving a little later and Andy was planning to leave later still. As the first team members began to arrive, the male was located nearby, safe and well, on farmland. Matt was stood down on route at 21:00.

The team were initially place on STANDBY then were called out at 00:15 hours. A female, aged 79, suffering with dementia went missing in the LIPHOOK area of Hampshire. Matt with search dog Charlie attended and searched with LSDSouthern’s search dog Kip and handler Daz Click here for LSDSoutherns team page LSD Southern team page The two dogs worked well together, searching a large route that she may have walked. With no signs or indications the team stood down for the night at approximately 0500 hrs.
In the morning, the search resumed for the missing lady. Jane attended to assist with searching on foot. She was stood down at 14:30 hours when the lady was discovered, still wandering, some distance from the last place she was known to be.

The second of two CALLOUTs. The team were called to assist HantSAR and Lowland Search Dogs Southern search for a missing 20 year old, despondent, male in REDENHAM near ANDOVER. No team member had deployed prior to the team being stood down at 21:04 hours, that same day, when the male had been located.

The team were called by Dorset Police in their search for missing holiday maker, Philip B, 62. Mr B had been staying in a hotel near to ALUM CHINE, BOURNEMOUTH. It is believed that he may be in a confused state at the moment. Matt, Erica and Andy (with dogs Charlie and Freya) searched the gorge of Alum Chine away from the beach to the houses at the tops of the slopes. Both worked, in tandem, one searching each side of the main path. The going was very tough due to the sheer slopes and overgrown vegetation. Following the first search, Erica assisted in a search management capacity whilst Matt, Nina and search dog Charlie continued searching further along the coastline. Laurence then assisted dogs arriving from LSD Southern search further coastal chines whilst Matt took on the search management role. UPDATE (15022012) – Following a Police appeal for assistance, Philip B, turned up safe and well.

The team were first put on STANDBY which quickly turned to a CALLOUT. The request was to assist Surrey search for missing AMANDA H from BY-FLEET, SURREY. Matt and Charlie attended with Nina, in her first operational deployment. The team completed two search areas, walking a distance of approximately 12.5 miles. The team departed later that evening with no further sightings or clues. A press release from Surrey Police informed teams involved with the search that she had been located safe. CALLOUT to assist WilSAR search the area POSTERN HILL in the SAVERNAKE FOREST. No further details were made available. No team member was available before the team were stood down at 20:40 hours. The missing person had been located. Click for Local News Report
